There are television series, which become a success and impact a television audience. And like any cycle, they end. However, there are few series that last for generations, and inspire us to create, to dream, to live.
In 1998, in the United States of America, a television series was born, transmitted exclusively by the HBO network, this was Sex and the City; which would immediately conquer a wide audience, especially the female gender, since the protagonists were precisely four middle-aged women who would share their lives through their fun and realistic adventures, about relationships, the search for love, men, friendship, sex and a long series of events that very rarely had been exposed in this format, and no doubt this original series, would do it like no one else, beating several records of audience, popularity, awards and an international fever for the series, through six successful seasons and two movies.
This is how Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda managed to connect and unite a generation that transcended for years to come. And the fact is that times may change, but ideologies about human issues only change. Personally, this series won me over not for being a series classified by many as feminist, for me it was something beyond a particular ideology or expression, since women for the fortune of humanity are indispensable in our lives, in our families and our daily lives, so it was important for the male gender also to see and not only have fun through its chapters, but to learn from them and celebrate the openness and importance of what this could influence our lives and relationships. Sex and the City, was a watershed in the classic American comedy, where the issues were addressed although in some sarcastic and comical way in many of the chapters, it also did so in a philosophical and entertaining way, where it made us think, reflect and understand our own actions towards those women, call them girlfriend, wife, sister, daughter, mother, friend, partner, etc., and know that special world of women.
